On Saturday we got the chance to hike to the Navuru waterfalls and it was a pretty spectacular adventure. Once we reached the bottom of the path we ditched our shoes and began to hike barefoot along the forest path that wove in and out of a stream. Hiking barefoot was definitely an experience, one that was cold and rocky, but totally worth it because it led us to one of the most magical sites.

We spent the afternoon splashing around in the freezing water, taking some waterfall selfies, and eating lunch with a pretty spectacular view.

Sunday was a more relaxed day filled with milkshakes, markets, and even a museum. We grabbed lunch at the Safari Café and enjoyed a meal of ice cream and pizza while grabbing some much needed WiFi. Our next stop was the Maasai market, a great place to practice bargaining skills and buy souvenirs galore for all the people back home. Next we made our way to Arusha’s Natural History Museum to learn more about the people and animals of the area. Dinner was held at the Impala Hotel where the day ended with a variety of Italian and Asian cuisine and one more chance to grab some WiFi and check in back home.

This coming week we are starting our independent projects and getting ready for our safari! Stay tuned!
