July 10 was a pretty exciting day here in Maji Moto because one of our own was celebrating a birthday! To celebrate Julia’s 17th birthday we kicked off the morning with some breakfast pancakes followed by some painting of the local school, which quickly became a paint war amongst the students. Dinner was eaten around the campfire followed by an awesome cake lovingly prepared by one of our Mama’s friend. To top it off Julia was sung Happy Birthday in a number of languages including English, Spanish, and even Chinese. A pretty cool way to spend a birthday in Tanzania!
